If you would like a flavor that you do not see here, please inquire! Helpful Definitions: Swiss Meringue Buttercream – This is a classic, “pastry” buttercream. There is no confectioners’ sugar or shortening here! It consists of nothing but fresh egg whites, butter, sugar and pure vanilla. It is silky smooth and melts on the tongue. Additional flavorings can be added, such as white or dark chocolate; fresh citrus juices/zest; passion fruit; liqueurs (Grand Marnier, Frangelico, Rum, Kahlua, etc…); mocha; caramel; praline paste. Ganache – a filling/frosting made from melted dark chocolate, heavy cream and sweet creamery butter. Sometimes known as “truffle filling”. Lemon Curd – a creamy spread made from cooking freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, butter and egg yolks. The lemon juice can be substituted with lime or orange juice, if preferred. Flavored Syrup – Many of our cake layers are brushed with flavored syrup. This is to ensure the layers remain moist, as well as to infuse even more flavor into the cakes. This syrup is delicious when flavored with liqueur, fresh citrus juice, or fresh herbs (such as lemon verbena or mint). |
